When I first met Ken, I was at the lowest point in my life. I had struggled for a long time with substance abuse disorder, thus the reason I was in legal trouble in the first place. And from day one it was clear to me that Ken really cared. He advocated for me in the courts and, honestly, he saw something in me that, at the time, I just did not. He never gave up on me or the idea that I could get better. Because he cared so much, he knew being a felon could harm me in the future, so he fought to get me SIS probation on all three of my felony charges along with treatment court. I successfully completed the 18-month (minimum) court program in 22 months and was let off probation once I graduated.
